Two summers ago I was a Sing & Play Swamp Stomp leader in my church’s Vacation Bible School. The theme was Crocodile Dock, and it was probably the most fun I’ve ever had in VBS.
One of the songs we learned and performed was called “We Can Trust Him.” Now, put away your grown-up hat for a while and watch the music video. It’s a little cheesy, but it’s got a great message: God will never let us down.
These passages are a great comfort to me, especially while I’m trying to raise support for my upcoming internship with Campus Crusade for Christ. I have to trust that God will provide the financial support I need, I must continue to ask Him for peace, and I need to remember that He has overcome every struggle that I’m going through and will go through. I know that this internship is something God wants for me, and now I have to work towards getting the support I need and on trusting Him more.
God is teaching me a lot through this process. He’s teaching me to trust Him, which is great because I can’t control what people do with their money; He’s teaching me perseverance through this weird and tough time of support-raising; and, most of all, He’s teaching me to give my worries to Him.
