Here I am, Cool Beans again with a caramel maple latte, a wonderful combination. Throw in the gorgeous weather and I’ve got myself a great day.
Yesterday was Valentine’s Day, and I said I might post that night, but I might not. Obviously I didn’t, because I just didn’t feel like it. All that had to be said was said. I’ve got all the love I need from my Savior, and He’s the only guy who will ever love me with the love for which my heart so pines.
Another thing about yesterday: so many of my male friends were such wonderful examples of Christ; when I saw them they’d wish me a Happy Valentine’s Day. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but it meant a lot to me.
Something else that was awesome was that Elliott wrote a very encouraging post in his blog yesterday. You just have to read it. I want to publicly thank him from the bottom of my heart for being such a great encouragement and a loving Brother in Christ. (Speaking for women here) Maybe more of our guy friends should remember to compliment us, especially on days like Valentine’s Day. Women are put under such a microscope; we have to dress a certain way, act a certain way, look a certain way, weigh a certain amount, be able to speak a certain way, and the list goes on. If our Brothers would remember to toss us a genuine compliment now and then, it’d make us feel so appreciated.
I guess the same goes for women complimenting men, too. If we would just tell him how great his shirt looks, or praise him for something, I’m sure the guys in our lives would love it.
Let’s take time today to love people the way God loves all of us. None of us are perfect, and we don’t have to be. That’s what God’s grace is for. He gave us a free gift of eternal life with Him in heaven because He loves us so much. Accepting that gift is as easy as loving God and admitting to Him that you’re not perfect. God has a great and glorious plan for your life. Don’t you want to find out what it is?
